Mask alters are a thing that exist as well, so if you want to call him an alter, go for it, and if you'd rather not, I suppose all the more power to you.

Your labels should, at the end of the day, mainly be for you. Not for anybody else.
Mhm, It's good that you're recognizing that he's not literally evil, regardless of whatever it is you call him, it's a good first step to establishing cooperation between you.
2:21 AM
keep plurality away from this and work on this as normally people do

I mean, this is a fairly plural experience, we've experienced it ourselves, involving fusion, and some other brain madness.
2:22 AM
if he's definitely there, then repressing him won't fix the issue that caused him to exist to beginwith.
Having headmates that exist as a form of coping mechanism is primarily about learning to cooperate and reduce the amount of harm you cause one another.
2:23 AM
wait who said anything about repressing?

When you stated to "keep plurality away from this", I thought you meant "consider yourself and this headmate/alter/etc. one person"
if you see sometimes you act in another way
Then you see something as a „mask” you put on to cope
And then it turns out to be something that is „a different version of you”
What do you think was happening?
And what using plural vocabulary will cause?
Since Lumi defines this person as being separate/somewhat-separate, then I used plural terminology in turn. It's also because we have had several similar experiences with our own system, and so can speak from experience.
shinimi what you described is that you sometimes behave and feel in way that you don’t like and the more you dive into plural interpretation of what’s happening the more you disown it and the harder it will be to work on it
2:29 AM
take ownership and responsibility
2:30 AM
stop giving your bad behaviour a name
KiTTiKaTTy( •̀ .̫ •́ )✧
they described the progress of their symptoms but all you got is that theh are „plural”
also i will explain something, even before i thought i was plural with my other tulpas, he used to speak to me inside my head and he appeared in my dreams once
2:30 AM
i didnt thought "ok i am plural because of him" and then it turned out a placebo
There is a difference between having an alter ego to project negative behaviors onto in a non-plural sense, and having another part/facet/what have you existing in a plural sense.
remember that the longer you soeak to him the more he can reinterpret things that were happening in the past, and you know how your questions can be suggestive
again you are suggesting someone that said „he represented my traits, i feel im losing those traits” to consider more separatipn
@KiTTiKaTTy( •̀ .̫ •́ )✧ (@KiTkAT( •̀ .̫ •́ )✧/jk) - jump
Mhm, no, you're right here.
2:35 AM
I wouldn't recommend further separation, but since Lumi already seems to consider them separate to a degree, it's best not to disregard that, while also not trying to make the separation more pronounced.
2:36 AM
You can communicate with a part to solve an internal issue while not giving them distinct individuality and personhood.
2:37 AM
it should feel less like speaking to another headmate, and more having an conversation with oneself, and the aspects of oneself, granted that you are fundamentally connected to one another.
yeah but you started projecting your past experiences and your solutions when he was saying from the beginning that it feels like a part of him and repeated that a few times.
Work like that is much easier when you co sider it part of you
Things like that should never be considered through a lens of plurality because we don’t know their history etc

I wouldn't state "never", but I do understand where you're coming from.
I don't think you should keep trying to make this part go dormant, for one. It avoids mentioning the problem regardless of whether he's a plural headmate or not.
2:45 AM
If you have an alter ego, then it's there for a reason, and ignoring it won't just make it go away, you need to be honest with why you have it and whether or not it's causing problems in your life.
